How do I enroll?

You can enroll in Wagestream directly through your Frontline mobile or desktop application. There are a few quick steps involved, and once enrolled, you do not need to repeat these steps unless you change your bank account.

  1. Select your district
  2. Connect your bank account
  3. Connect your debit card
  4. Connect your pay to Wagestream

To get started, go to Menu > Wagestream (for Frontline mobile app) or log in to Absence Management, access the side navigation, and select Wagestream (for desktop).

    Select your district

This lets Wagestream know the organization(s) through which you are affiliated.

    Connect your bank account

This lets Wagestream know where to deposit your pay on payday. You may also choose to transfer to this account.

Connect the debit card associated with your bank account

This allows you to make instant transfers.

    Update your paycheck direct deposit

To complete enrollment, change your direct deposit information at your district to the unique account and routing number Wagestream gives you during enrollment. This provides a secure way for Wagestream to process your paychecks as you use Wagestream.

That’s it! Once Wagestream has confirmed receipt of your pay on payday, you will be able to access your pay whenever you need it. On payday, your net pay will go from your employer to Wagestream. Wagestream will then pass your remaining pay not already transferred (minus any transfer convenience fees) to your current bank account. For most banks, this entire process usually takes a matter of seconds.

You can make as many transfers as you like, up to $500 per pay period. The system records current progression toward the $500 limit via the Webstream "Home" tab.

What is "available pay"?

Your "available pay" is the amount of your earned pay that you can transfer.

Wagestream estimates your available balance based on the days you have worked and the average daily pay for substitutes in your area. Most substitutes can expect to see up to 50% of their earnings available to transfer, up to $500.

If you have transferred the maximum of $500, your available pay will reset after your next payday.

How is available pay to transfer calculated?

Consider the following scenarios:

If you have not earned it you cannot access it

At the end of a substitute's job worked, you will have access to your earnings from that day. Your Available Pay is an estimate based on the number of jobs you have worked and the average daily pay for substitutes in your area. Most substitutes can expect to see up to 50% of their earnings available to transfer, up to $500.

     Temporary available pay

When you first sign up, if you have worked in the last 30 days, Wagestream will allow you a temporary available pay of up to $50. Once you have changed your direct deposit and Wagestream receives your first deposit, you will get access to your full available pay, up to 50% of your earned pay, up to $500.

Available pay will start to accumulate

Your balance will accumulate throughout each pay cycle and reset on your next pay day.

Only a percentage of your pay is eligible to access

To allow for deductions such as taxes and other decreases to your gross pay, only a percentage of your earned pay is available to access. Most substitutes can expect to see up to 50% of their earned pay available to transfer, up to $500.

Minimum limit will also be set

Your Available Pay shown in Wagestream must be above $10 to transfer.

How do I make a transfer?

  Eligibility

To be eligible to make a transfer, you must have your bank account and debit card details set up in Wagestream and have worked a substitute job recently. You will have a temporary amount available to transfer until you have updated your direct deposit at your district, and Wagestream has confirmed receipt of your pay. Once Wagestream has processed your first paycheck, you will be eligible for full access to your Available Pay.

  Transfer Steps

To make a transfer, on the Wagestream home page, click the Start a Transfer button to bring up the Transfer screen. Select one of the "Quick Amounts" or enter any amount up to your Available Pay. (Available Pay is shown at the top of the page).

Next, select whether you would like an Instant transfer to your debit card or a Standard transfer to your bank account (1-3 business days). Select the card or account you wish the transfer to go to and click Confirm.

14.png15.png

The system will confirm the transaction for both a standard and instant transfer.

When will my earnings from jobs appear?

Your Available Pay will usually be updated with earned pay from worked substitute jobs within three hours of the completion of your work day or half day.

Will my paycheck be paid from Wagestream or my employer?

Your net pay on payday will come from Wagestream. After you update your direct deposit information to the details provided by Wagestream, your net pay will go from your employer to Wagestream. Wagestream will then pass any remaining pay not already transferred, minus any associated convenience fees, to your current bank account. For most banks, this entire process usually takes a matter of seconds.

Total Net Earnings: $1800.00 Employer sends to Wagestream
Transfer Balance/
Transfer(s) Settled:
$200.00 Wagestream reconciles your requested transfers

You will also receive a statement via email from Wagestream detailing any Wagestream activity. This activity will not appear on your payslip.

  Direct Deposit & Banking Details

Why do I need to change my direct deposit?

Wagestream needs to receive and process your paycheck to reconcile any transfers that you made before payday. Wagestream then routes your remaining pay to your bank account. If you have not made any transfers in the period, your pay is instantly forwarded to your bank account.

How do I change my direct deposit?

Some districts have self-service for updating direct deposit. Other districts may require a paper form or a request to HR or Payroll. To make this process easier, when you enroll, Wagestream will provide you with a letter that you can use, if needed, as part of the process for updating your direct deposit. This letter can be used in place of a canceled check that some organizations require.

How do I update my bank account?

While you are enrolled in Wagestream, if you change your bank account, you only need to update it in Wagestream and not with your district’s payroll. Wagestream uses Plaid to link your bank account. You will need your online banking details to complete the connection. Plaid is secure and private. Your bank data is encrypted end-to-end, and Wagestream will never be able to access your credentials.

You can manage your account information via the "Accounts" tab in Wagestream. Here, you will find your linked bank account, as well as assigned debit cards. Select to replace or edit the account details, as needed.

You can only link one bank account to your Wagestream profile, and one card will be associated with that linked account; however, you can add multiple debit cards to Wagestream, as needed.

Editing Existing Account

Select the Edit option to manage the account name, assigned card number, and/or expiration date.

21.png22.png

Adding/Replacing an Account

Select the Replace option to access Plaid, connect a new account, and assign a debt card to it.

23.png24.png

You will be prompted to connect an account and add a debt card during this setup process, and when added, an email will be sent to you for verification purposes. Confirm the card via email to finalize the workflow. Otherwise, a red indicator will appear that states, "This card is not verified," and you will be prompted to complete that verification process prior to completing a transfer.

25.png26.png

How do I add a debit card?

You can manage your account information via the "Accounts" tab in Wagestream. Here, you will find your linked bank account (with its associated debit card), as well as any additional debit cards you add to your Wagestream account. Select + Add a Debit Card to add an additional card, as needed. You will be prompted to enter the card number, expiration date, and an optional name for this card.

27.png28.png

When added, an email will be sent to you for verification purposes. Confirm the card via email to finalize the workflow. Otherwise, a red indicator will appear that states, "This card is not verified," and you will be prompted to complete that verification process prior to completing a transfer.

  Support Options

Who do I contact with Wagestream questions?

Wagestream support is an independent, third-party service that functions outside of Frontline. This Frontline FAQ provides the basics to get you started, but Wagestream does offer its own help center, as well as customer support via email or chat in that help center.

How do I cancel my Wagestream service?

You can cancel your Wagestream Service at any time. Contact Member Support through the chat feature in Wagestream or by emailing them at support@wagestream.com to let them know you would like to cancel. Support will disable your account and provide the steps to complete your cancellation.

If you think you would like to re-join Wagestream at a later date, you may want to consider an account "Pause" rather than canceling. This means you will not be able to stream your wages; however, if you face an emergency in the future, you can request to have your account "unpaused," which happens immediately. Contact Member Support if you would like to Pause your account.
